Barrel has stamping near the front sight base that reads '06/05'.which I interpret to be June, 2005. Cerro Forge Key Hole marked upper. No 'C' marking on upper receiver. Has black-colored Colt ejection port cover spring. MPC marked bolt, M16 carrier. Castle nut is large, and is STAKED to the receiver extention plate. Extractor does have an insert, can't remember what color though.

Is this right? LGC 03500X black finish, Cerro Forge Key Hole marked upper, M4 receviver extention/nut & buttstock, mag fenced lower, factory front push pin, large trigger pins, M16 bolt carrier, bolt marked MPC, black extractor buffer with gold spring?, roll marked COLT DEFENSE, no pinned sear block, crush washer for flash, LEO roll markings, H buffer, large reinforced lower receiver ring for the extention, M4 feed ramps, receiver ramp bare, black ejection port spring, barrel dated 06/05. Colt Ar-15 A2 Gov T Carbine Serial Numbers

A2 large pin lower and upper. CM on the upper. Small FC pins. No sear block. I added yours to read like this: GC 0054XX CM upper forge code, old style receviver extention nut/receiver extention/buttstock, mag fenced lower, big pivot pin, small trigger pins, SP1 bolt carrier, blue extractor buffer, roll marked COLT'S FIREARMS DIVISION, no sear block Is that correct?

Have a few question, was hoping you could go through it and check the following: M4 ramps? Front of receiver marked M4, 4, or nothing? Barrel marked C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7? No marking on the barrel extention (need a flash light to check)?

Has a two digit code under the guards behind the FSB like this: Originally Posted By SPTiger: I bought my Colt Gov't. Carbine new in June 1995, but it is a pre-Sept.

I added a few pics, and one of them is rather large to show detail. GC 0172XX M4 feedramps right-side pinned receiver block Here's a pic of the markings on the FSB. This pic shows a small box stamping as well as what looks like a triangle stamping that wasn't struck hard enough to show the whole triangle. I added yours like this, might check and see if that is correct: GC 0172XX CMB upper forge code, old style receviver extention nut/receiver extention/buttstock, mag fenced lower, small pivot pin hole, weep hole drilled, large trigger pins, SPORTER bolt carrier, blue extractor buffer, roll marked COLT'S MFG CO.

INC., sear block pinned in right side, M4 feed ramps Also have a few questions about yours: M4 ramps? Front of receiver marked M4, 4, or nothing? Barrel marked C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7?

No marking on the barrel extention (need a flash light to check)? Has a two digit code under the guards behind the FSB like this: Has an O stamped like this. Originally Posted By SPTiger: I bought my Colt Gov't. Carbine new in June 1995, but it is a pre-Sept.

No marking on the barrel extention (need a flash light to check)? Has a two digit code under the guards behind the FSB like this: Has an O stamped like this: I'm going to check for those markings when I get home. I also added a pic of my barrel markings to my original post. I have a Colt Gov't Carbine, I think I purchased it new in the early 90's Its serial number is GC02091X.

On the front sight is says 609, on the barrel it says 2/95 under the handguars and it is stamped C MP556NATO 1/7 It has a pinned sear block that says COLT, 2 position plastic CAR stock, extractor has a blue insert. Don't see any markings on Upper Reciever, Bolt or carrier. Not sure if the front pivot hole is large or small, visually they look to be the same size, but haven't taken a micrometer to it or anything like that.Edit. I just took front pivot pin out and it will go into rear so I assume it is a small hole upper reciever. Added yours to read like this: GC 0054XX CM upper forge code, old style receviver extention nut/receiver extention/buttstock, mag fenced lower, big pivot pin, small trigger pins, SP1 bolt carrier nope m-16, blue extractor buffer, roll marked COLT'S FIREARMS DIVISION, no sear block Is that correct? Gov't Mule

Has a faint '4' at 3:30 Has a two digit code under the guards behind the FSB like this: Has a '2' at the front and the '0' for chromed lined at the nut. Interesting that yours has M4 ramps and Bravo's does not. Maybe Colt ran the serial numbers out of order, or just used parts available. If we get more data will get a better picture of the situation. Regarding bolt carriers, there were three common carriers used in Colt's semiauto line the last 40 years. What I refer to in these data bases as the SP1, the SPORTER and the M16.

The SP1 has an exposed firing pin, and the back bottom part that trips the auto sear is cut off. The SPORTER carrier is what is more commonly refered to as a 'half round', and the M16 is the full auto part. Have not heard of a M16 carrier in a 1980's or 1990's factory original Colt semiautomatic. So, is your an odd ball, or was my terminology unclear? Alright, here's the only things I know about mine. I bought two at the same time last year, but changed the A2 upper out for a flattop so I can't tell you the markings on that one.

The A2 serial # is LGC 03498X The serial # for the one that's now a flattop is LGC 03496X Both had the M4 feedramps when stock. I see virtually no markings on the A2 upper.

There is a keyhole near the rear sight, and nothing else the is visible from the outside. Both lowers are marked AR-15 A2 GOV'T CARBINE CAL. 225 SER LGC XXXXXX Between the safety and the bolt stop is COLT DEFENSE HARTFORD. CONN -USA- The opposite side has RESTRICTED MILITARY/GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT/EXPORT USE ONLY Neither front sight appears to be marked at all.
