What you can do is install it on a separate drive (such as a CD or flash drive) and then plug it into the computer.

My suggestion is before upgrading, make sure ALL your drivers are Windows 8.1 compatible. Remember site ratings aren't perfect and the site could be tagged wrong (I had OldSpices site flagged as a site hosting malware on Trend Micro a few years ago, use the ratings as a guide, if you are doing a google search and it comes up get away from that site if a forum member posts it, it is PROBABLY not a malicious site).
